Newest Wildlife art flip book...
I did a flipbook for my larger images, then one for the fluid/general sized items and now I have been asked to do one in coastal colours. They're fun to create and I think they show booth the consistency and the diversity of the art well too!

I decided to create a flip book to highlight my extra large paintings also as an easy way of sending my portfolio.. I like how simple it is.
I am an avid reader and reading the Art of Possibility by Rosamund Stone Zander and Benjamin Zander, right now. I have only finished the second chapter but the book has been incredibly enlightening and powerful. The first pages are concerned with the fact that everything we have is made up or as the book [...]

I was a graphic designer for most of my life and freelanced since 1986. Prior to becoming a designer I was hired as an accountant's assistant and they were going to sponsor me to take courses. I spoke to a friend and told her that I wanted to do art instead. She told me to [...]
I recently saw a TEDX video with artist Gwenn Seemel that spoke about why she doesn't copywrite her art. She has a point and the talk is very informational. I am not sure how I feel but personally, my work is spontanious and evolves in the moment... even I can't copy it... Here's the video. [...]
I submitted samples of my work to Baywest's Artist Program recently and out of over 90+ entries Baywest Homes chose Aurora Falls as one of 5 finalists to hang in their Harmony Aspen Showhome. I am delighted and overjoyed to be included in this group of artists and the art will be hanging over the fireplace until [...]
My art piece called Amaranthine had been selected as a semi-finalists in the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series. It was a great honour and although I didn't win the big one my art was seen by a whole pile of people who might not have seen it without the extra help. To be truthful though, Amaranthine [...]
A lease agreement has been announced between Contemporary Calgary Arts Society and the City of Calgary which will enable a a new world-class gallery for modern and contemporary art to be opened in the Centennial Planetarium in 2019. This is very exciting news for Canada and Calgarians (like myself). The Planetarium has long been considered a [...]

Our Economy is constantly working towards more stuff and it is not always the right stuff for our health, our oceans and the earth. What if it changed towards better stuff? We can all do our part to stop this nonsense and move towards better solutions, better jobs and health, not just more stuff and [...]
Spiky Needle Sea Urchin A while ago Mark and I took a trip to Roatan, an island off the coast of Honduras. We stayed in an ECO Lodge named Tranquil Seas and it was my favourite all time place to stay. It wasn't only the lush gardens, friendly environment or comfortable cabana that made this [...]

I love nature and head to the hiking trails whenever I can. Here's a great video from a camera set up in the woods.
I love bees and often photograph wild ones while hiking in the foothills near my home. We all know how necessary these insects are and we also know that our bee populations are dwindling. Note: the top banner picture is my own. I found this video of a honey bee metamorphosis from National Geographic fascinating. It features the first 21 days [...]
