I set out to do a whale picture. Not something that I usually do. I usually let the composition adjust as I layer the paint. I was in my pop up gallery and looking at a picture that suggested whales breaching and this made me want to do a whale picture in this wild, wild background. I admit that I’m pretty happy with the result.
It was interesting when I was trying to name this one, my search included posts of these magnificent animals in captivity. This made me sad as my whale is having fun and enjoying the ocean waves. This led me to name it “Wild and Free”. As they should be.
